Continuing Education: What is it and why do I need it?

For librarians, continuous learning is critical to renewing the expertise and skills needed to teach and assist members of the public in the new information age.


All library staff must commit to continuous learning because of the ever-changing nature of materials and technologies we use.  Our communities are changing and evolving as well, so keeping up to date on information and skills is essential if libraries are to remain relevant in the 21st century.
